Box Office

The Box Office is located at the right hand side of the Theatre in Steephill Road.

Pre-booked tickets for collection should be picked up from the Box Office, which also sells Theatre souvenirs.

Opening hours: Hours

Auditorium

Auditorium seating is on two levels: the stalls and the balcony. The stalls are level and the balcony is tiered. Access to the balcony is via stairs (there is no lift). In general, the auditorium opens 30 minutes before a show.

Bar

Alcoholic drinks, including Isle of Wight beers, tea and coffee are available in the downstairs bar, accessed via steps from the Box Office corridor, allowing theatregoers to relax before a show and avoid any rush to get to the Theatre on time. The bar normally opens one hour before a show starts.

Historical Map Room

When visiting the bar, don’t forget to see the adjacent historical Map Room, which was a local command and control centre during WW2 and is decorated with memorabilia from that time. Additional bar seating is available in the Map Room.

Sweetshop

In the foyer you will find an English Heritage listed structure – the sweetshop, which was formerly the Theatre Box Office. It opens before shows and during show intervals for those hard to resist treats.

Friends of Shanklin Theatre

During your visit you are likely to be greeted by Theatre volunteers as the Theatre has only 5 paid staff and over 150 volunteers to run it. Theatre supporters and volunteers are members of the Friends of Shanklin Theatre (FOST). By becoming a Friend you can help the Theatre whilst receiving discounts for certain shows, a regular newsletter and other benefits
